Virtual Nuclear Reactor Tour

Control room

A reactor control room is a place from which all technological processes at the reactor site are controlled and monitored. A whole reactor operation in normal conditions is supervised by very few people: a reactor operator, a turbine operator, a chief engineer and a shift chief. The control room is a very quite place, unscheduled events happen very seldom at the reactor site. For example unscheduled shutdowns of the reactor due to abnormal operational conditions happen only once or twice a year.
